He Stands in Bloom
Product Details
Artwork Description:
He Stands in Bloom is a bold and expressive portrayal of the king protea — a symbol of strength, resilience and quiet presence. Painted in mixed media and finished in oil, this work layers gestural marks, rich colour and refined detail to create a balance between power and stillness.
The protea rises with a grounded confidence, its structure both protective and expansive. There is no urgency here — only steadiness. Beneath it, the abstracted background holds layers of movement, memory and energy, contrasting with the calm authority of the bloom itself.
This piece reflects a quieter kind of strength — one that does not demand attention, but holds it. It speaks to growth, stability and the importance of presence, offering a subtle tribute to men who stand steady through change, supporting, holding and enduring.
With its scale and depth,
He Stands in Bloom is a statement work designed to anchor a space — bringing both strength and softness into the home.

Artist Bio:
Rebecca Hayes is a Geraldton-based mixed media artist whose work explores resilience, serenity and a deep connection to the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Western Australia — from native flora and birdlife to expansive coastal and bush environments — her practice reflects both place and emotional experience.
Working across collage, acrylic, ink, pastel and oil, Hayes builds layered compositions that balance expressive mark-making with moments of stillness. Her process often begins with writing and intuitive drawing, forming an underlying structure that informs the final work. Through this approach, she creates pieces that hold both energy and calm, inviting reflection
and connection.
Hayes’ work responds to the pace and complexity of modern life, offering a quieter, more grounded perspective. Her artworks aim to evoke a sense of pause — a space where viewers can reconnect with nature, memory and self. She has exhibited in group exhibitions, with works held in private collections.
